There is a belief that saying your opinion in a work environment can be a bit risky, because you will most likely go head to head with other people. This can also become a problem if your boss is there as well. Let me tell you a little story.

For the past year and a half I have been going to the sauna weekly with my youngest. I have thought about buying my own sauna that I could have in the garden. However it is somewhat expensive and maybe not economically feasable in the long run.

My current book reading process has gotten a bit slower for the past months. I have finished some more of the books in the ‘Wheel of Time’ series. In between those books I have also read some other books - currently I am reading the book ‘View from the UN’ written by U Thant.

The datalake has been running for the past couple of months and there has been no issues as of yet. The AWS Batch jobs are running as expected and the data is being sent to S3 correctly. AWS Glue runs over the data in the bucket every two weeks.

So what have I have been doing for the past couple of months? I have been working and learning lots of things regarding datalake technology on AWS. This datalake stuff is very interesting because I needed to convert data from a PostgreSQL database to Parquet-files.

I went on a trip with my family to Florida in the United States for two weeks. It was a wonderful trip with ups and downs. The downs were related to our trip to the United States. Let us start from the beginning.
